Musician on Karl’s Bridge

A lot of people (me including) say that you should never do a HDR shot of a person. But from time to time, it’s good to try it :). I took three shots, but the alinement’s was not possible. So I did a single exposure HDR, mostly to lighten his face (as it was in a shadow) and add more texture to the whole photo. I also decided to go with a B&W here, to give it a more “pencil drawn” look and to make it even more about the different textures.

This photo was taken at the Karl’s Bridge in Prague.

HDR from a single shot, taken with Canon 450D with Sigma 18-200mm lens, handheld. Combined in Photomatix, B&W conversion in Lightroom.

Side street in Old town

One thing you have to like about side street, there are not many people there :) This is quite close to the Main Square in Bratislava, where you can (almost) never take a photo without people.

Captured Sun

This one could also be called “Calm before the storm” as few minutes after it was taken it started raining :). This photo taken at the Botanical Garden in Bratislava. I really like to go there, as it’s such a beautiful place to get away from the city and relax a little.

More from Jelka

A little older shot, which I also edited few months ago. This is a little wider view of the Water Mill in Jelka, taken in January. This is a really lovely place to spend an afternoon :)

Broken clouds over Brno

I took this photo few months ago, while visiting Brno. I go there from time to time, as it’s not far from Bratislava, and they cook great Czech food in the pubs there :). This photo was taken from the top of the St. Peter and Paul’s Cathedral. I had quite a luck here, as I was alone there at that time :). It’s a really small space, I had problems standing next to my tripod :)
