Still under the bridge
This is exactly what I want my HDR’s to look like, clean, sharp, lots of details, but with a light HDR effect, looking as real as possible. I edited HDR photos almost daily for the last 1 and a half years and finally, I’m getting to the point where I want to be :). And now to start focusing more on the composition side of things :)
HDR from three shots, taken with Canon 450D with Sigma 10-20mm lens, from a tripod. Photo taken from under the Old Bridge in Bratislava. In the distance the Eurovea shopping center and Tower 115.
Great shot, it definitely has a great natural look to it, something which I always try for in my HDR shots as well.
I was wondering, I use a 350D and I often get issues where it is impossible to bring out detail in HDR’s because I get severe colour pixelation. It shows up with lots of pink/red/green pixels, even when there isn’t much of that colour in the shot. Have you encountered this problem using the 450D? I use Photomatix by the way, what do you use?
Thank you :) and I’m also using Photomatix. The problem you’re describing looks like the one, which you get when the photomatix tries to pull out details from areas that are too dark in the darkest shots. Than it creates lots of different colored pixels, usually purple in my case. I usually just drop down strength, and if this does not help, correct this by masking the lightest photo into the finished hdr in photoshop.
Not sure if this is the problem you described, hard to say without seeing it in a photo :)
