This was actually my second trip to Paris. My first one was 13 years ago at a school trip. I don’t remember much from that trip (scenery really was not on my mind when I was 17 years old :)), but this finger was one of the thing I remembered and I also knew where it was. Other that the area looks wery different from what I saw then. It was mostly a construction site then.

The one with the Finger

I took so many photos of the Eiffel tower and I still think it’s not enough :) Each time you see a Paris photo, there is a very big chance you will have the tower there. And it’s no wonder. It really screams Paris. From my 6 days in Paris I spend two sunsets there. Really wanted also a nice sunrise, but the weather was against that. Maybe next time.

Glowing tower

This was just luck. Having a sunset like this the day we (by we I mean me, Beboy photographies and Begirl all over the world ) went to the Eiffel tower was a big surprise. It was raining the most of the day, so there was a little chance that if the rain stops and the clouds break up we would have something nice, but this was much more than expected And that’s why I took over 700 brackets during that sunset

Perfect sunset in Paris

The view from the Eiffel tower is great in any direction. Time just flies so fast when you are shooting evening/night photos. Each bracket series takes at least a minute, so a hour goes by very fast. It’s also really nice they allow tripods on the Eiffel tower. You have to go through a security check and a metal detector, but still, they allow them. And that’s very important for a photographer :)

From the Eiffel tower

I really advise against standing in the middle of the road. And if you really need to stand there, I advise to taking as smaller risk as possible. I took this shot really quickly and I was standing next to a well lit traffic sign, so I was quite visible. But seeing other people (I will not call them photographers….) standing almost inside the crossing in the dark, was unsettling. I think this is stupid. No photo is worth your life, and looking at the traffic there, I think it was mostly luck that there is no one killed there every day. But I also seen a lot of people running through the road to the arc, with an underpass just meters away, so it really looks like more people have a death wish.

Btw if you are there and want a photo like this, just do what I did, go to the opposing side (look at the map for the place). The other side was full of tourist and photographers. This side was completely empty with far less traffic :)
