The reflected colors of autumn – Plotagraph

I really like this photo. And so of course I had to try and create a Plotagraph from it, just to make it even better :) So I did. As you can see from how it looks and from the animations points screenshot to the side, I went with a quite subtle animation, only in the reflection. I think that was enough.

Morning fog over Lesnica

So many hours spend listening to Audible

I mentioned before that I love to listen to audiobooks while I take photos (and not just then). And I just had a look on how many hours I actually spend listening to them. And according to the app, I have spend over 1 month of listening time in the last year. That’s around 2 hours for every single day.

It just so great to be able to read books even when I don’t have time to do so. Just finished the new one from Dan Brown, Origins, recently and right now getting through Paradox Bound from Peter Clines (I really like books with time travel :)).

How about you? Do you use audible, and what great book have you listened to recently?

Morning fog over Lesnica

There has been quite a lot of fog recently, and here is a shot I took about a week ago over the village Lesnica in eastern Slovakia. The weather did not look that promising, and also the sun rose right on the other side. But when it got over the hill, and the light poured down into this valley, it looked quite nice.

This is a 4 shot panorama. I did HDR bracketing, but did not use it. Combined and edited in Lightroom, finished in Photoshop. As again, this is a huge panorama, I have included few detail shots to go with it, to show you how it looks up close.

Assassin’s Creed: Origins

If you read my about page, you may know that I used to work in game design some years ago. So of course I like to play games a lot :) But with a game like the new Assassin’s Creed, I only can think of how great the scenery looks and how wonderful photos it would make for, if it was real (or still existing). Probably would call that a professional deformation :)

Sunny clouds over Paris – plotagraph

For today, I have for you another Plotagraph. This time I edited one of my Paris photos. And as the clouds were very soft that day, I decide also to go with a very subtle animation, to just give a bit of live into the photo.

Lights in the fog

Todays photo is again one from early this year, taken in Prague. This one was quite late in the evening, when a fog came over Prague. And with the fog, the lights from the Charles bridge created this projections in it. It looked quite cool :) So for this photo I wanted to show them off quite a lot, while still getting a big part of the bridge.

This is a single exposure, edited in Lightroom and Photoshop.

Surface Dial & Photoshop

I have been trying the Surface Dial in Photoshop recently, as the last update added support for it. And wow, is it disappointing. It’s mostly not even worth mentioning. They only support zoom, history and brush settings. That’s all. No canvas rotation, no size settings for objects, no opacity setting for layers, nothing special. And its not even context sensitive. So if you switch to the zoom tool, it will not magically start zooming in and out. You still have to switch it in the dial selection.

With how many settings in Photoshop are just sliders, this could be used so much more. Just imagine being able to dial in an effect when you are applying it, or dialing in the opacity of a layer. You can just look at the Sketchable app, and see how it could be. It is really lazy from Adobe to just do it so they can say its there, and not really trying. But to tell the truth, I did not expect that much from Adobe recently. Their updates are really not up to par anymore.

The 5 fingers view

For today’s daily photo, I chosen one taken during this summer at the 5 fingers view in Alps in Austria. The 5 fingers is actually a skywalk platform, that will allow you to go out into this valley and get just such a wonderful view.

And it’s not even so hard to get there, as there is a cable car going completely up to this mountain and you just have to walk about for 30 minutes to get to the view.

This is a two shot vertorama, combined in Lightroom, edited in Lightroom and Photoshop. I still struggle a bit with editing purely landscape shots, as I’m so used to cityscapes, but I think I’m getting there. And as it’s again a quite big detailed photo, I included som detail images in this post, to show you how much you could see from there :)
