Looking back

Today’s post will be a bit nostalgic. I have been updating this blog since 2010 now and I have changed it a lot over the years. And today, I went through the waybackmachine archive and had a look at many of the snapshots of it there. And I though I share them also with you here :)

Btw. the site started as hdrshooter.wordpress.com, then was blog.hdrshooter.net and only after I had luck and managed to buy the hdrshooter.com domain it moved here.

This are 9 different screenshots, around 1 for every year the site is online, starting with the one from 2010. Funny how my style over the years changes. What do you think? :)

Sunset at the Neusiedler See

Today I stooped by with a fellow photographer at the Neusidler See (Lake Neusiedl) in Austria. And I did take few photo, even if it was fewer than I though it would be. It was just horribly cold and windy on the pier. I was mistaken from the quite warm weather when we left Bratislava and I did not really anticipated to be freezing there.

Still, I got few photos, even if the sunset was a bit boring without any clouds. This panorama I took right as the sun was about to set behind the horizon. This is a two shot long exposure panorama. I used a 10-spot Vfoto ND filter to get the exposure to be 30s, as I wanted soft water and the wind was mowing it too much.

Statue at the Alexander bridge

After all those panoramas and vertoramas, how about a bit simpler photo. This is one of the statues at the Alexander bridge in Paris. As if it was not easily recognizable by the Eiffel tower in the background :)

This is a single exposure, edited in Photoshop.

Passerelle St Georges

The Passerelle St Georges bridge in Lyon, France looks really nice. And the location of the church right behind it makes for such an easy composition. But you know how it is. Things are never that easy. The lights on the bridge are crazy strong. You have to underexpose a lot and then blend even more. And even with a -3EV shot, you will not get every spot correctly. Really does not make for an easy photo :)

This is a 5 shot HDR merged in Lightroom, then blended with original exposures in Photoshop.

Soft sunset in Bratislava

I been a bit sick recently so I have not been out to take photos in a while. But I decided to go out today, and I ended at my favorite spot in the city center right after sunset. So today, I have for you a new photo from Bratislava.

This is a two shot panorama. I used a 10 stop ND filter here from VFFOTO. I did quite underexpose the shot, but with the RAWs from the Canon 5D mark IV I was able to overexpose enough to get what I wanted. Panorama combined in Lightroom, finished in Photoshop.
