I spend the evening in Vienna yesterday, and while the weather was quite bad, I spend a hour taking some quite long exposure photos. And here is one of them. I’m actually quite pleased how it came out, taking into account the strong wind, rainy weather and the late hour. I hope nobody will notice where I had to remove ugly flares from the water drops that landed on the lens :).

Just a quick repost of one of my favorite photos today, as I’m again busy today.
The perfect sunset

Another one of my favorites, this one is from the Neusidelersee in Austria.

Sunset at the Neusiedlersee

Isn’t it nice when the foreground element nicely shows you where to look? And no I did not put the stones there. I have no idea why they were there, but I of course used them for the composition.

Looking back, I actually should have done another shot, with the camera a little more to the ground. But few minutes after I took this, a passing ship created a much bigger wave that I anticipated, and I ended with my shoes full of water, and I had to deal with that :)

This is a HDR from 3 exposures, created in Oloneo Photoengine, finished in Photoshop. I used a 10 stop ND filter while taking this photo.

I actually had the pleasure to cruise on the Danube on a ship very similar to this a few years ago. It is so great. You can just relax on the deck and watch the beautiful scenery pass by. Really a great experience.

So this photo is taken opposite Durnstein in Austria. Really one of the most beautiful views in the area. I tried a little different type of editing here, so this is not HDR, as all edits were done just using Photoshop and Color Efex. But as there was not such a huge dynamic range here, there was no need for HDR anyway :)
