Recently I shared quite few animated photos here, but I shared even more on Instagram. You can head over to my account and check them out.

Close to the water in Lyon

When it comes to reflection, I like to get as close I can to the reflective surface. It just makes for a more interesting view. Same here, in Lyon, where I got completely close to the surface of water, to get this shots.

This is a blend of two exposures, edited in Lightroom and Photoshop.

Remaining translations

I thought it would take longer, but after yesterdays updates, today I finished adding the last two translations to the Top Photography spots, and now all are available also in Japanese. So as always, you can find the English versions here, and the Japanese ones here.

Passerelle Saint-Georges in Lyon

For todays photo, I chosen one I took in Lyon, France. This is one of a many very nice spots in the city center. I really like how it looks like, just the lights they use to light up most of the landmarks are white and crazy strong. It makes for a bit harder blending. But one can’t give up :)

This is a two shot blend, with a third shot blended to remove few moving people from the shot. Edited in Lightroom and Photoshop.

Moving host

I had to move the blog to a new host this week, as it was just too slow for my linking. So I’m sorry for a bit of downtime that was mostly today, while it was changing to a new address. I do hope that this will result in better response and loading times overall, and it will just work better.

Flower in Lyon

And for todays photo, here is one from Lyon in France. This is a flower sculpture in the middle of the city. I wanted a bit different composition, but I could not get closer, as it was completely surrounded by a fence. So all I did was to get the tripod as close as I could and put the camera high, so getting over the fence. I worked quite fine :)

While in Lyon, all of the photo spots I planed were full of very classic, old architecture. But while I was walking through the city, I noticed a photo of this, the Euronews building on one of the promo posters for a ship tour company, so I had to find out what it is, and get a few photos.

This is one of them, a two shot vertorama, taken during the blue hour. Edited in Lightroom and Photoshop.

While in Lyon, I noticed that they like to use crazy strong lights on the bridge pylons. Almost at every bridge. I had to do 5 exposure here, where mostly I can get by with 1 to 2. And still, I could have gone darker.

For this photo I first did a HDR tone mapped version, but I did not like the result, so I started from scratch again, and manually blended together the exposures to get this result.
