It’s so easy to make a photo identifiable as taken in Paris. Just put the Eiffel tower in the background, and everybody know immediately :) Same for this photo, of one of the statues on the Alexander bridge.

This is a single exposure, edited in Lightroom and Photoshop.

Alexander bridge portrait

Technique: Oloneo Photoengine, Number of exposures: 1, Camera Model: Sony a7R + Metabones MkIII Adapter, Lens: Canon 24-70mm F2.8 IS II, Focal length: 70mm, Aperture: 5.6, Middle exposure time: 4.0s, ISO: 125, Tripod used: yes, Location: 48.864135, 2.313446

So rare to have a finished photo with no blue in it. So refreshing. Btw. I’m not sure if it’s due to the adapter, but I feel like I’m getting more lens flares now, and the sun star is not as clear as it used to be when using a lens directly on the Canon body. But maybe it’s just a feeling :)

For those curious, this is from the same bridge as the photo I posted yesterday. This is a blend of three exposures. Normal, darker and a normal with my hand shading the sun. You can find more about this technique in this tutorial.

Technique: Oloneo Photoengine, Number of exposures: 3, Camera Model: Sony a7R + Metabones MkIII Adapter, Lens: Canon 16-35mm F2.8, Focal length: 27mm, Aperture: 18, Middle exposure time: 1/13s, ISO: 200, Tripod used: yes, Location: 48.856510, 2.286782

I so like to frame landmarks. Always looking for something that I could have in around it. With the Eiffel tower it’s not so easy, as it is quite high, but with a wide enough lens, it is possible :)

From the Bir-Hakeim bridge

It just does not look the same without the looks. The Pont des Arts I mean. At least they could have made like a nice railing, the graffiti is just ugly. But what can you do. The sunrise that day was really not the best, and I even planed to go to the Louvre instead, but when I seen the ugly red shop in front of it, and few trucks parked in front of the pyramid, I quickly changed my mind. And this was a plan B.

The weather was all over the place the week I was in Paris. I ended up going three times to the Notre Dame, trying to get at least one shots with a nice sky. Not that I had that much luck, with it either being completely clear, or rainy. But at least for few minutes during one morning blue hour, the sky was usable at least :)

This is a HDR from 3 exposures, created in Photoengine, finished in Photoshop. I ended up using only small parts from the HDR, and most of the photo is blended in from the original exposures.
