Pulse – camera remote

The company behind the Radian time lapse device just started a new Kickstarter project and I think this might be interesting to some of you. This time it’s a attachment to your camera, that allows for a remote control using an app on your phone. It may be really useful to those of you, who need to remotely control your DSLRs. Check out their Kickstarte page for more informations on the product.

The long puddle

People probably thought I was crazy, while I was running around, taking photos by every puddle in front of the Eiffel tower. But I just can’t resist a nice reflection :)

This is a HDR from 3 exposures, done twice. Used the second HDR to remove few people from the shot. Combined in Oloneo Photoengine, finished in Photoshop.

Technique: Oloneo Photoengine, Number of exposures: 3+3, Camera Model: Sony a7R + Metabones MkIII Adapter, Lens: Canon 16-35mm F2.8, Focal length: 20mm, Aperture: 16, Middle exposure time: 3.2s, ISO: 125, Tripod used: yes, Location: 48.855297, 2.299549

A more simple photo for today. While I was taking photos in Paris, most of the trees were still green. But in some of the side streets, the Autumn color already taken over. And this is from one of those streets :)

This is mostly a single exposures, edited in Lightroom. I had to blend few bright spots from a second exposure in Photoshop.

Autumn shot

Technique: Photoshop blend, Number of exposures: 2, Camera Model: Sony a7R + Metabones MkIII Adapter, Lens: Canon 24-70mm F2.8, Focal length: 16mm, Aperture: 9, Middle exposure time: 1/50s, ISO: 100, Tripod used: yes, Location: 48.856510, 2.286782

Don’t you just love how much you get with a wide angle lens. It gives such a different view of the world. And this is just the 16mm, can’t even imagine if I had the 12mm lens form Canon :)

Wide angle view

Technique: Oloneo Photoengine, Number of exposures: 3, Camera Model: Sony a7R + Metabones MkIII Adapter, Lens: Canon 16-35mm F2.8, Focal length: 16mm, Aperture: 14, Middle exposure time: 6s, ISO: 100, Tripod used: yes, Location: 48.856510, 2.286782

While on the topic of reflections and Paris landmarks, how about another one :) This one is from a morning blue hour right next to the Notre Dame. Their are both (this and the one from yesterday) actually a bit untypical for me, as I really do prefer landscape format to vertical orientation. There are many reasons, but I think the main one is how we, humans, see things. We just see so much more horizontally than vertically at once, so a nice big landscape photo can be so much more immersible than a vertical one. But thats maybe just my view of it :)

Most of this shot is a single exposure, with few parts blended in from a 3 shot HDR created in Photoengine.

Calm morning

Technique: Oloneo Photoengine, Number of exposures: 3, Camera Model: Sony a7R + Metabones MkIII Adapter, Lens: Canon 16-35mm F2.8, Focal length: 23mm, Aperture: 7.1, Middle exposure time: 5.0s, ISO: 200, Tripod used: yes, Location: 48.853066, 2.347101

I just had to take as many shots I could while having all the reflections from the puddles. And even with quite a huge amount of people walking around, I managed to get this without any of them in the shot. One has to like long night exposures :)

Broken up reflection
