For today, let’s continue with a shot from Dresden in Germany. This one is also one of my older shots, that I only edited now. It’s from a very hot and very rainy summer day. It rained three time that day, each time for about 30 minutes, and as quick as it stated raining, it always also disappeared. But of course not before I got wet :)

This is a two shot blend, edited in Lightroom and Photoshop.

This was the only time I captured a rainbow in a photo. And it happened to be a double one. It was so nice after getting rained on 4 times that day :)

Statistics are not everything, but it’s always nice when one get’s to a new milestone :) And the one for today, is that my portfolio site (www.hdrshooter.net) counted for the first time over 400 000 photo views in a month. This counts almost all the photos viewed on the blog and on the portfolio :)

Long exposure Dresden

Usually when the weather is just ugly, I tend to get out my ND filter, to at lease make the photos a little more interesting. It does not help with the weather, but if one blurs the water and the sky, it usually fits better the mood of the weather. I did the same with this shot from Dresden. The weather was boring, with some rain and only few clouds. But the long exposure created such a nice glass like water, great for a reflection.

This is a HDR from 5 exposures, created in Oloneo Photoengine, finished in Photoshop.

Somehow I was busy the whole day today. But still I managed to get some time to edit a new photo. Today its one form Dresden. Dresden is a really lovely city, just a little busy during the day. And as I wasn’t staying there, I had no chance to go and shoot the sunrise, and sunset was nothing special. It even started raining right after that.

This is a HDR created in Oloneo Photoengine and blended with original exposures in Photoshop.

Blue water in Dresden

I’m finally getting back to HDR after the last few days filled with editing party photos. It’s fun, but so much work. I’m so thankful for the sync function in Lightroom :) But here I have for you a photo from Dresden.

I created it by using manual blending. I had 5 exposures, but even on the +2EV the area under the bridge was black. I tried to brighten it up, but even in the RAW file the area was still dark. Strange how it got no light reflected from the water. Nest time here, I’m doing a +4EV bracket :)
