Blue hour in Zaandam

I have few more photos of the Eiffel tower edited, but so they are just not in a row, here is one from last year, taken in Zaandam, near Amsterdam. This Intell hotel is quite the unique building, isn’t it?

This is a two shot vertorama, each shot from two exposures.

Visiting Keukenhof

If you are in Netherlands in early spring, you should definitively visit Keukenhof park. It’s just so full of tulips. I almost visited it a week ago, but than had to skip it. But I will maybe get back soon :) And don’t also forget to check other photos spots I recommend around Amsterdam :)

The colors of Keukenhof

This is quite an untypical photo from me, but I wanted to bring a bit more color to the page :) Also, this was taken one very sunny day, so I’m not completely happy with it, as there are quite a few highlights here. And you can’t do that much with them, as darkening them looks just strange.

I took this photo about two years ago, in the Keukenhof park, at that time still with the Canon 5D mark II. So maybe a bit more dynamic range would help here. But I will see if that helps when I get back with the 5D mark IV.

Favorite spots

Probably in every city I visited multiple times, I have a favorite spot from where I like to take photos. And in Amsterdam, it’s this one at the canals. And since there are always multiple other photographers there, I’m not the only one :) You can see all my favorite spots from where to take photos in Amsterdam here.

Blue hour at the canals in Amsterdam

Last week, I spend only one evening in Amsterdam, and so I did not take that many photos. I was staying close to this spot (first one on the Top spots list), so I decided to go there. I took only few shots, during the blue hour, as I was quite tired from the very busy previous day. But from those there are few nice.

So here is one. This is a two shot vertorama, each one from three exposures. I used a brighter one to get the water and a darker one for the sky.

Last year I just took so many vertoramas. The tilt shift lens I got enabled just so many new compositions and views, many more than I expected. And here is one of them, that I took in the Zaanse Schans in Zaandam near Amsterdam. I actually should go back to Amsterdam again this year, so this will be one of the spots I will definitively revisit again :)

This is a two exposure vertorama, edited in Lightroom and Photoshop.

I prefer wide shots, but from time to time I also like to take a more detailed shot. And this is one of those. I think one can see the lovelocks in every city one goes to now, so here are some on a bridge in Amsterdam :)

For this one I went with the biggest aperture I could on the lens I had on (24-70 f2.8), to blur the background as much as I could, and it worked quite nicely. This is a single exposure, edited in Photoshop and Lightroom.
