Red Stairs

One for the hockey fans :). This is a part of the newly reconstructed Ondrej Nepela Arena where the 2011 IIHF World Championship will be held in a few weeks. There are still a few constructions going on there, so I opted for this closer shot, so you cannot see it :). This red stairs are really dominant on the building and very visible, and with the blue hour sky and the white light, I have here all the colors of the Slovak flag :)

Macromo.de

There are many sites on the Internet to find interesting photographers. Macromo.de is one of them. It’s quite small by now, but I really like the simple interface which makes the photos the primary subject, with all other page elements hidden.

It’s really worth the visit :)

Still frozen

I like playing with the depth of field. Usually in HDR photography you try to have everything as sharp as possible, but some time, it’s better like this. I took this one with my 18-50mm lens at 50mm F2.8.

I took this photo 3 days ago. I took a little trip to the top of Devinska Kobyla (hill near Bratislava) and since there was no snow in the city, I was quite suprised to see the whole woods still frozen over (no snow, just ice).

80 Days – 8,000 Photos

Have you seen the new Trey Ratcliff’s Stuck In Customs video 80 DAYS – 8000 PHOTOS? No? Then go and watch it :) It can be found here or here.

It’s quite hard to describe, as it’s just a slideshow of a lot of photos. But what a slideshow :). I really like it. The combination of photos, video and music created a masterpiece. Now to count the photos, if there really are 8000 :)

Night Lights

I’m actually quite happy with this one :). I almost thought all photos taken that evening have a lot of reflections on them, as this was shot through a double glass windows and even with the light turned off there still was a lot of them.

Not saying which part of the city this is, lets see how long, before someone from Bratislava finds that out :)

New Bridge

I really don’t like where the Aupark tower (the skyscraper in the back) stands. It really is in the way when you want to take a shot of the New bridge from the Bratislava Castle.

HDRshooter.net

Finally I have a normal address for my online portfolio. It’s now www.hdrshooter.net . I really wanted a .com domain, but since somebody has it parked I can’t have it. I really hate when people do this. If you don’t have a page, don’t register a domain.

Of course the old address hdrshooter.smugmug.com still works.

Twitter

Just a reminder :). I post all links to my photos and other interesting stuff (but mostly other photos) also on my twitter account http://twitter.com/hdrshooter
I try to keep my tweets count to a normal (smaller) number, so I don’t spam.

So anyone can follow me, and I try to follow back :)

Little Paradise

The Botanical Garden of the Comenius University in Bratislava is such a nice place for a walk. It is quite close to the city center, but you wouldn’t now it being there :)

I think editing trees in HDR is quite hard. HDR brings out so many details and it whole becomes a one big mess. I had the same problem with this one, so I mixed it with the original shot (0 EV) to bring back the shadows in the trees and separate them from each other. I think I was quite successful :)
