I wonder how it must have been, to live in a something like this. But probably very cold. Heating something like this, where it is mostly build of stone, must have been a nightmare :) But the area and the view is great. Like everything, it has it pros and cons.

Entering the Wonderland

It was really fun taking photos of the Bojnice castle. I was in the park almost alone (only few couples passed by from time time) but the castle was full of guest. The anual ghost festival was still in progress and visitors were enjoying the night tour of the castle. So quite regularly I was able to hear ghostly screams, moans and other sound while I was taking the shots. It really makes the mood, when you are standing alone and in almost complete dark :)

Camera collection

This probably happens to every photographer. Once you start taking more and more photos, you start to like all these beautiful old cameras more and more. Until now I only bought some, haven’t tried to take any photos with them. But as they are all functional, I think I will do that sooner or later :)

Path around the Bojnice Castle

The photo of Bojnice castle I posted a week ago is currently the most popular of my photos. It’s not really a big surprise for me as the castle looks really like something from a fairy-tale. So here is another one. I only took 2 steps back, to get a completely different composition :)

I had to do two bracket series for this shot. The +2EV photo was just not enough to get any detail in the wall in the foreground. There were just no lights there. So in the end I took one classic series, with a low iso to get the bright areas and than a second series, where I changed the iso to 1600 and did a +0 to +4 series, to get detail in all the dark areas. And with this setup, the lights of a nearby road were enough to brighten the wall.

Path around the Bojnice Castle

One of the cities in Slovakia I wanted to revisit for a long time was Bojnice. I was there around 4 years ago, right before I started with photography, and wanted a nice photo from there since then. Bojnice is a small city, but the very beautiful castle there is the most visited castle in Slovakia and one of the biggest tourist attraction in the area. So this weekend I went there and spend two days just taking photos of it. I thought of maybe also going inside, but seeing the number of people there changed my mind. The annual ghost festival draws a lot of visitors and the waiting times for the castle get really long :)

And another year passed, and again there is a car exhibition in Bratislava. So as each year, I stopped by and took few photos :) You can also see the photo from last year here Girls & Cars 2012
