To break up the Europe photos, here is one of my older ones, that I took in Dubai. This was actually right next to the building, in which I rented a room through AirBnb. I do like to use it quite a lot :)

This is a single exposure, edited in Lightroom and Photoshop.

I looked through my older photos for today, and decided to edit one I took two years ago in Dubai. It’s actually funny, that if you look at actual photos of this area, there are so many new building there, that were not there just few years ago. It changes so quickly all the time.

This is a blend of two images, with a darker exposure used to tone down few highlights.

I was in the mood to post a Dubai photo today, so I went back and looked through all photos I took there, if I can find one interesting to edit. And in the end I chosen this one, taken at the public beach next to the Burj Al Arab. Not that I really enjoy beaches that much (I don’t like to spend much time in strong sunlight and I can’t swim), but if its about getting a nice photos, I’m willing to go to one :)

This is a single exposure edited in Lightrom and Photoshop.

I was in the mood to edit a Dubai photo today, probably from seeing all the great photos from my friends from there. So I looked back through my Lightroom catalog, and chosen one I tried before, but never finished.

This spot is still quite close to the Burj Khalifa to get it into one shot (I so regret not having a tilt shift lens :/) so I tried for a vertorama here. I did lost quite a lot from the photo due to a lot of perspective distortion, but in the end, there is still enough :). This is a two shot vertorama, both exposures edited in Lightroom, combined in PTgui and finished in Photoshop.

The decorated entrance

It was so crazy to see the photos and videos of this hotel burning during the New years. I can’t even imagine how it had to look to those who were on the spot. It was so good to see that none of my friends that were there (and nobody else there) god badly hurt. Good to see that the architects of these huge building thought of such situations and a fire does not end in tragedy. I’m quite curious what will now happen with the hotel, if it can be repaired, or they will have to demolish it. Time will tell.

This is a photo taken in 2014 from the top of the Burj Khalifa. This is a HDR from 4 exposures, combined in Photoengine, finished in Photoshop.
