Today I tried focus blending for the fist time (even if I took this photo few months earlier :)). For those who don’t know what focus blending is, its a process, where you take multiple photo with each of them focused on a different part of the scene. Then you combine the sharp parts from these photos so you have one photo which is completely in focus. Here I took two 5 bracket series, one focused at the rock near the camera and one at the hills in the distance. At the end I used only 3 photos, two for the foreground and one for the background. The dynamic range was not that high, so I had no need for the other photos. I still could have done a better job, by taking another series for the rocks closes to the camera, as they are still a little out of focus, but maybe next time.

Somehow the London photo are the most popular photos from all I have posted. The number of views on my portfolio are now 5 time higher than they were before London photos :) And so here is another London shot, for all those that like them so much :)

And another early morning shot. This is really one of the best time to take photos. Just look at the walkway on the bridge. You never have it so empty like early in the morning :)

I was pleasantly surprised, that taking photos in the Westminster Cathedral is allowed and you even can use a tripod (I nicely asked :)). Comparing to the not so far away Westminster abbey, where you have to pay for entry and no photographing is allowed, this is much better :). To bad the light was not that good, the sky was cloudy and together with not so many lights on inside, it created a little less colorful photo than I would like. But maybe I’m just being too critical about my own photos :)

Surprisingly, even in the very cold weather and it being quite a late hour, there were quite a few people on the Millennium bridge when I was there. But as many of them were taking photos, I don’t really think many of them were from London :)
