HIGH-RESOLUTION WALLPAPERS

I never tried before to take a panorama while shooting fireworks. And I haven’t even taken the nodal slider with me, as it was totally unplanned. But I still tried it out. Probably just because I needed to do something, as my fingers were freezing onto the camera :) (I was not able to control it while wearing gloves at all). The result is not completely as I hoped for, as I stupidly left the fireworks right where I needed to blend the shots. Still, it’t not completely bad :)

This is a two shots panorama, combined in PTgui, edited in Lightroom and Photoshop.

Fireworks Panorama

Technique: Photoshop edit, Number of exposures: 2×1, Camera Model: Canon EOS 5D mark II, Lens: Canon 16-35mm F2.8, Focal length: 24mm, Aperture: 8, Middle exposure time: 4s, ISO: 200, Tripod used: yes, Location: 48.141600, 17.102695

I had no idea that there would be a Slovak flag on the Bratislava castle for the New years, and they even added 2016 to it after midnight. So when I saw it, I had to get to a better spot to take a photo, even if it was 1 in the morning already and my fingers were freezing. And as I was taking the fireworks photo from the castle fortifications, the better spot was on the other side of Danube. Getting through all the people that tried to cross the bridge in the opposite direction was quite and ordeal :)

This is a single exposure, edited in Lightroom and Photoshop.

2016

Technique: Photoshop edit, Number of exposures: 1, Camera Model: Canon EOS 5D mark II, Lens: Canon 24-70mm F2.8, Focal length: 70mm, Aperture: 5.6, Middle exposure time: 6s, ISO: 400, Tripod used: yes, Location: 48.141600, 17.102695

I hope you all had a great start into the new year, and here goes my first photo of the year, and of course its one from the midnight fireworks :)

Happy New Year

Technique: Photoshop edit, Number of exposures: 1, Camera Model: Canon EOS 5D mark II, Lens: Canon 16-35mm F2.8, Focal length: 24mm, Aperture: 6.3, Middle exposure time: 4s, ISO: 100, Tripod used: yes, Location: 48.141600, 17.102695

Of course I can’t end the year with a different than a fireworks photo. This one was taken at the 1.1.2015, and in few hours I will post one from the 1.1.2016 (if the weather holds and I get some good new ones :)).

So to all of you, have a great Silvester, and good start into 2016 :)

Last one for 2015

Technique: Photoshop edit, Number of exposures: 1, Camera Model: Canon EOS 5D mark II, Lens: Canon 16-35mm F2.8, Focal length: 16mm, Aperture: 8, Middle exposure time: 4s, ISO: 200, Tripod used: yes, Location: 48.137060, 17.109715

As every year, it’s time for my favorite photos from this year. I visited some new, some old places this time, so there have been some very nice photo opportunities.

So let’s hope for even better 2016, filled with great times, interesting locations and the perfect light. And here are some of my favorite photos taken this year.

Btw. just few weeks ago, the blog achieved a very nice milestone. 2000 post overall :) With a post a day, thats around 5 and a half years of updates. When I started such a long time ago, I never thought I would keep it up for so long. So thank you for all your visits to the blog, and to many, many more updates to come :)

Also here you can see my favorites from past years: 2014, 2013, 20122011 and 2010 :)
