Exploding sky

This was not even such a long exposure (2s) but I got so much in this shot. There was quite a lot of wind during the fireworks, and it was blowing towards me. So it made  it all look like the fireworks were falling directly on me.

Petrzalka is one of the city parts of Bratislava. It’s one of the newer parts, with almost no historical buildings. When I finished this, I was about to crop this photo so the horizon is on the golden mean line, and I was pleasantly surprised when I saw, that it already perfectly aligned to it. Looks like after few years of shooting almost always by the golden ratio, I use it without thinking :) View the full post to see how the photo from the camera looked like

Chateau in the distance

A little different shot from Bratislava. This time it of the surrounding area of the Chateau of Prievoz, with the Slovnaft refinery in the distance. As my longest lens is currently only 70mm (as I can’t use my lenses from the 450D), I planed to crop this photo, to have a closer view of the Chateau. But as I started to edit the HDR, I started liking the full photo more and more, so I cropped absolutely nothing.

City lights

The best view from Bratislava. If you are visiting, you should definitively go to the top of the New Bridge to see it.

The stunning view

Sometime you just don’t know what looks better, the landscape or clouds. It rained few hour before, so I had high hopes for the sunset. It wasn’t very colorful, but still a stunning sunset.

I went with 7 brackets for this one, as that’s my usual. But 5 would have been quite enough. The light was quite flat, not many shadows here. Also the sky is from one of the original shots, just post-processed in Photoshop.
