St. Stephen’s Basilica

How much detail can you have in one photo? Looks like there are no limits to it. There are almost no single color areas in this shot. Everything has a texture to it.

I know I have already posted a photo from the St. Stephen’s Basilica, but I have few problems with my outdoor shots from Budapest. They are just not as I want them to be, the bad weather had a more negative effect on them than I expected. I will probably have to play with them more, to get the result I want, but that takes time. For now, please enjoy another interior shot :)

Castle on the hill

What lovely colors I got in this photo. It was taken really at the exact time after sunset.

I was hoping to post another photo from Budapest today, but I’m just too tired to edit another one. But there will definitively be one tomorrow.

Back home

So I’m back home from Budapest. I took a lot of photos, but I’m not sure how many of them will be usable. I had bad luck with weather. The whole time I had to fight with a very strong wind, which destroyed a lot of my photos. Sometime I had problems standing in it, so you can imagine how it was shaking my camera around. So lets start with an interior shot, as there was no wind :)

The stunning ceiling in the St. Stephen’s Basilica

I tried to center this as much as possible, and have it very symmetrical. I almost completely succeed :) I had quite fun taking this shot, but I will write about that next time :)

I went for 13 exposures here. Not that I really needed them, but I wanted to be sure I have enough. This was a too nice shot to miss them.

St. Martin’s Cathedral at night

There is so much color in night shot. The long exposure can find it almost everywhere. This is of course another shot taken from the top of the New Bridge.

Destination Budapest

So right about when this is posted to my blog, I’ll be in a train heading to Budapest. I’m spending the weekend there, relaxing and of course taking a lot of photos. So from Monday onward they will be on the site :)

Castle & Bridge

Always when I pass here I take this photo. I probably have dozens of variants of this shot. But I just can’t resist this reflection.

I went for 9 shots here, as first series I took with only 7 had the caste still overexposed. This scene really has a very high dynamic range, between the white castle and the dark underside of the bridge. I went very light on the post-processing again. I combined the shots in Photomatix, then corrected few spots in Photoshop, removed noise, sharpened image using Unsharp mask and added more contrast and brightness. That’s all.
