HIGH-RESOLUTION WALLPAPERS

I went completely down to the river for this show. I will probably end in the river one day while doing this, as standing on the rock is not so easy. But the shot came out nicely.

I took 9 shots for this one, because I wanted to have at least some detail on the front of the ship, and you can see in the comparison that it was really dark. There was no light source there.

Aqueduct remains

This is a piece of an aqueduct in the park by the Chateau in Lednice. The whole park is such a nice place to take a walk, especially during summer, as it’s filled with lakes and small bridges.

I used only three brackets for this one, and as you can see, it was quite enough. Check out the before/after to see a comparison to the 0EV shot.

Girls & Bikes

I love taking HDR photos, but from time to time I have to do a different kind of photography, so it doesn’t become repetitive. And same with this blog. It is a HDR photography blog, but from time to time I like to add something else. And as currently there is a motorbike show in Bratislava, I went there to take few photos. I was there only for about an hour, because once there were masses of people, I left.

Everyone will probably notice, that the bike photos are details. There is a simple reason for it. It’s quite crowded at such an exhibition and so it’s harder to make a nice composition with the full bikes. But I have a few, but they are reserved for HDR.

If you like Girls & Bikes photos, see also Girls & Cars.

I hope you like the small change from the standard photos (but I think men will like it a little more :))

New wallpapers

The desktop wallpapers page on my blog is one of the most visited, and was the most visited before I put up my HDR tutorial. And so there is a bigger reason to visit it, I added 4 more wallpapers to it. I’m also thinking of adding some dual-screen wallpapers to the site, I just can’t decide on the resolution. Any suggestions are very welcome.

Two statues by the entrance

I really like all the compositions that got together in this single photo. You have the symmetry of the chateau, the statues almost on the thirds and the horizon on the golden ration line. I took this photo in Valtice, in Czech republic. I was there only for a while, so I will definitively go there again this year.

HDR tutorialHDR tutorial part 2

I went to sleep really late last night, but the second part of my HDR tutorial is online. This time the theme is preparing your photos in Lightroom and combining them in Photomatix. You can acess the tutorial either from the side menu, or directly here: Using Photomatix Pro

Hope the tutorial is helpful and all feedback and questions are very welcome.

The next part will be about correcting the most common HDR processing problem with the help of Photoshop. But that will be sometime later.

Last moments of sunset in Madrid

As you can see, my luck for days without any clouds stayed with me also in Madrid. For a moment I was thinking of cropping the sky, but I could get myself to remove even the smallest part of that beautiful sunset orange.
