Remembering the Dead

As Halloween is not really celebrated in Slovakia, we have our own variant of a day of the dead. It’s called Dusicky here and the tradition is to go and put candles on the graves. I live not far from the Martinsky cintorin (Martin Cemetery) in Bratislava, so I went and took few shots. Only few, in a side alley, as I think you shouldn’t disturb people in such a place.

HDR from three shots, taken with Canon 7D with Sigma 10-20mm lens, from a tripod.

Floating

I visited the Medrano Circus ( http://www.medrano.it) yesterday, as it is currently in Bratislava. And as I couldn’t resist I took few (hundred :) ) shots. Most of them are just bad, blurry, or under/overexposed, but some of them are quite nice. I had to use a really high iso, as I would never use flash at such a performance. For the photo I used ISO 5000. It created quite a lot of noise, but Lightroom removed it quite nicely :)

Not a HDR. This one was taken with Canon 7D with Sigma 18-200mm lens, handheld

Don’t fall down

Two weeks ago I added a photo of the elevator in the Old Town hall in Prague. This is the same elevator and stairs, just taken from top-down. It came out completely different, which I think is great :)

Passing by

This spot in Prague, right next to the Karl’s bridge, is great for long exposure photos as there is so much traffic and movement :).

For this photo I was inspired by a fellow photographer The Fella who did a similar photo from this spot. (go check out his great photos :))

Bells in Bardejov

It’s not often you can see church bell so up close, but in Bardejov, you can see two right in front of the church. They both have such a great detail on them, ideal for HDR :)
