Light projection on the Bratislava castle

So the photos from yesterday did not work out as much as I hoped to. I did not notice how much the flood lights created flares. I only saw them when I brightened the photos. Looks like will have to try the tower again, but will maybe wait for some snow first. But I did get a nice photo so that’s what I’m sharing today.

I wanted this as a panorama with the full fortification visible. But as right around the right bottom corner here is the flood light, that did not worked out that well. So I focused more on the castle, as there was this light projection on it. I had no idea they are doing this, but it was nice change for the photo :)

Blue morning in Rotterdam

Today I tried to decide if I should go out to take photos or not. The clouds showed promise. In the end I decided to go and go up to the Old town hall tower to get some photos of the Christmas markets. And I really had luck with the sunset, as today it was just beautiful. But, I still have to edit the photos, so I show it to you probably tomorrow :)

And until then, here is a photo from the center of Rotterdam in Netherlands. I was on a ship there, that was docked not far away from this spot, so I decided to try some sunrise photos. And this was taken during the morning blue hour. This is a blend of three exposures, done in Photoshop.

Light in the park

The Bayterek monument in Astana, Kazakhstan really shines at night. Does not really make for easy photo blending but looks really nice. Btw. I still don’t know if its Bayterek or Baiterek. Still seen both being used.

Fireworks over the city

Still three weeks until the end of the year, but it’s time to think from where I try to get a nice photo of the New Years fireworks. And I have to say, I have no idea yet. I don’t want to the same location as last or the year before, but not sure if I find something better. Let see what I find this time :)

This is a shot from 3 years ago. I got nothing last year due to very strong fog, and the year before I took photos form the Old bridge. This is a single exposure, edited in Photoshop.

Evening over Astana

Back to Astana in Kazakhstan with another photo from there. This one was taken from a roof of one of the skyscrapers in the city. It was a great view, even if it was right after a thunderstorm, which makes things a bit worse. You may have noticed that sometime, you can focus as much as you want and the shots just are not sharp as you want them to be. This is sometime caused by the weather. If there is too much moisture in the air, you will just get soft photo. And you can’t do anything about it.
