Sponsored articles

I’m still getting offers for sponsored articles. And again, I want to repeat, that currently I’m the only author on this blog, and it will stay that way for now. And especially I will not post articles that have nothing to do with me or photography. I’ve been working on the blog for almost 10 years now, and will not let it go down with random stuff.

Btw. I’m still being refereed to as “HDRshooter team”. Is it really so hard to see that there is only one person behind the site?

Summer night in Barca de Alva

It has been so hot recently, that I’m completely not in the mood to even go out. Only when I really need to. Good thing that I have years of photos I can go back to and edit, to keep the blog going :).

And since it’s so hot, here is a photo from an even hotter day in Portugal, last summer. The whole week then was over 44 degrees Celsius, and even so late in the evening was still over 30. But I really liked how the reflection of the bridge looked like, so I had to go out and get some shots.

This is in the little town Barca de Alva in Portugal, right at the border with Spain. The lights on the bridge are really bright, and even with taking 5 exposures, going down as low as -4 EV, the light were still overexposed. But it’s not that bad, a bit more realistic this way :)

This is a two shot vertorama, each shot from 5 exposures. Combined in PTgui into a panorama, then in Oloneo Photoengine into a base HDR. Then I used Photoshop to blend original exposures into it.

Most popular guide

I mentioned before that the Top spots in Amsterdam is the most popular page on the whole blog. But would you like to know which one is the most popular guide? It’s the one on removing lens flares from photos. Looks like it’s quite a common issue for a lot of you.

St. Stephen’s Basilica

I’m going for a few photo day’s to Budapet next week, so I hope I will get some good new photos from there. Have to check out some new places, to get shot of something new, not just the river surrounding. But of course I will do also some there. You just can’t skip it :)

This is a two shot panorama of the St. Stephen’s Basilica, as seen from the High Note Skybar. This is one of my recommended spots from Budapest btw. :). Panorama combined in Lightroom, finished in Photoshop.

Removing white outlines

This was quite an issue in the today’s photo. Quite often when you correct a very big brightness difference in a photo, it may hapen that you end up with a outline around the dark area. Hapens a lot in HDR but also with other edits. And if you have that problem and want to correct it, I have a full guide to it here.

Sunset at Schloss Ort

For today’s photo, lets stop in Austria, in Gmunden at the Traunsee. They have there this castle/chateau there right in the middle of the lake. You don’t see it form this side, but it on a small island with a bridge going to it.

I still remember how crazy bright the sun was that sunset. I had problems doing a composition, as I could not even look towards the sun. It was a warm day in the middle of January, in the Alps.

This is a single exposure, edited in Lightroom and Photoshop.

Plotagraphs

I have not posted one in a while, but there are quite few Plotagraphs available on the blog. And you can see them all if you check out the Plotagraph category here.

Rocky shore in Vernazza

A more simpler photo today. While in Vernazza, I also went on top of the tower that was in the middle of the city. I did not really get some great shots, but that can also be because it was crazy hot and sunny. And I just can’t think clearly in such conditions. Still, I got few. And here is one, of the rocky shores of the city.

This is a two shot vertorama, combined in Lightroom, finished in Photoshop.

Portfolio site

For those who would like to just see my photos, without all the stuff around them, you can check out my portfolio site wwww.hdrshooter.net. There almost no text there, just a huge wall of photos :)

Tower in Monterosso

If you look closely into the previous photo I posted from Monterosso, you can see this tower right in the middle of it. There is a small viewing platform right behind it, and that’s from where this photo was taken.

It is quite close to the tower though, so I used the 17mm tilt-shift lens here, and did a vertorama. I wanted to get the whole tower and also a lot of the sky.

This is a two shot vertorama, combined in Lightroom and finished in Photoshop.
